| CJR increases capability with NEW multi-tasking machine |
| 19/12/08 CJR Propulsion, a leading European manufacturer and designer of propellers and sterngear systems has invested in a new state-of-the-art, multi-tasking machining cell – Horizontal Lathe Integrex e-500-II. The new purchase will enable CJR to accurately machine shafts up to 185mm and 9m long. Previously that largest shaft that the company could produce was 110mm and 8m in length. With the new machine in place, CJR will be able to keep up with the growing demand from its existing customer base by meeting requirements for even larger stern gear packages. It will also enable the company to operate in the superyacht sector. The outstanding accuracy of the Integrex will ensure that each and every shaft is precisely manufactured to deliver vibration free operation at all times. The Integrex e-500-2 has been purchased from Yamazaki Mazak, the world’s largest supplier of CNC lathes, machining centres and manufacturing systems. The machine has been designed to combine advanced technology, productivity and value in line with Mazak’s ‘Done in One’, concept. ‘Done in One’, incorporates all machining processes into just one multi-tasking machine, resulting in lower production lead times, improved machining accuracy, less floor space, lower expenses and reduced operator requirements. Integrex e-500-2 is now the third ‘Done in One’ machine purchased by CJR Propulsion and brings the company’s total number of Mazak machining centres to five. |
