UK based CJR Propulsion, and West Australian marine products supplier VEEM Ltd, have entered into an agreement that will see the two companies joining resources to strengthen technology, design and manufacturing capabilities. The collaboration between the leading designers and manufacturers of propellers will position CJR as the distributor of VEEM’s propellers throughout Europe and the Middle East, with VEEM set to distribute CJR’s shaft line packages and stern gear components.
Both CJR and VEEM have been manufacturing propellers for over 30
years and are at the forefront of propeller technology. VEEM uses proprietary software to drive high speed five axis contouring CNC machines and robots to manufacture its propellers. This highly automated way of making propellers also ensures greater levels of accuracy than can be achieved by older methods of manufacturing including three axis CNC machining. CJR is renowned for operating the most advanced stern gear manufacturing facility in Europe, with a state of the art CNC machining centre.
CJR will distribute VEEM’s patented revolutionary Interceptor PropellerTM. Interceptor technology enables all boats to be launched with the correct propeller every time, by attaining the right engine revs and load without the need to change or modify the propellers. The Interceptor allows changes to the pitch of the propeller without removal from the boat by using different height Interceptor strips to adjust the effective pitch of the propeller. Should the pitch of the propeller need to be changed, the old strip is simply pushed out and a new strip of a different height is pushed in.
Mark Russell, Managing Director at CJR says, “We are very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead as a result of this agreement. We already knew we had a great shaft line package and by having access to VEEM’s CNC propellers, we can easily meet the demands of our customers, from commercial applications to high speed and luxury craft looking for unprecedented levels of performance and refinement.”
VEEM’s CEO, Brad Miocevich says, “We looked at a number of options and different companies to drive our expansion into Europe, but it was clear that CJR is way ahead of anyone else and share our strong philosophy of high standards and continual improvement. This partnership will enable both companies the ability to offer world class propulsion packages.”
Please join CJR for a glass of champagne to celebrate the partnership at 1pm on Tuesday 18th November on stand 03.100. Representatives from each company will be on hand for interviews.
