Nick Groom has been appointed as IT Manager at CJR Propulsion. Nick is a fully qualified software engineer with an extensive background in the implementation and design of effective IT programmes. No stranger to the marine industry, Nick joins the company from Lewmar where he was employed as Senior Developer. Nick will be based at CJR Propulsion’s purpose designed engineering and design centre in Southampton.
In his role as IT Manager, Nick will be responsible for installing an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP). Over the past three years CJR has invested in a significant development programme which has lead to the company expanding across three main manufacturing sites. The new ERP system will enable the sites to consolidate and centralise company information ranging from financial, production and design, through to stock levels, orders and delivery schedules. This process will ensure that every aspect of the company can be closely monitored and reported on a regular basis.
In addition, Nick is aiming to have customer sales data and individual product specifications uploaded onto CJR’s website www.cjrprop.com on a daily basis.
Nick says: “I’m delighted to be joining CJR Propulsion at this exciting period of expansion. With my previous experience of system implementation and development I feel well placed in helping to streamline CJR’s business processes. If we fully understand our business, we can then work smarter and ultimately the customer will benefit.”
