Leading European manufacturer and designer of propeller and sterngear systems, CJR Propulsion, has announced further investment of £1.05 million in new machinery and equipment to be integrated into its high tech engineering centre.
These latest acquisitions will enable CJR to increase its manufacturing capability to keep up with demand from its existing customer base, and will maintain the company’s ambitious growth plans. In addition, the investment will further strengthen the critical area of contingency planning - vitally important for any company serious about supplying to today’s volume production boat builders.
The new machinery will also enable the company to produce larger sterngear systems in order to open up new market opportunities.
Among the acquisitions is a new Mazak Integrex CNC lathe from Yamazaki Mazak. This is a state-of-the-art multi-tasking machine, consisting of a machining centre and CNC turning centre. CJR has also purchased an Emcomat CNC machining centre specifically for rudder machining, increasing productivity levels without compromising on the quality of workmanship associated with CJR.
The company has also invested in another Hale MRI (Measurement Recording Instrument) scanner, bringing the total at CJR to three. The Hale Scanner is an extremely versatile and sophisticated 3D propeller measurement device and features multiple data analysis tools giving a complete propeller analysis of several thousand measurements in under five minutes.
